Compress Video Online Without Uploading It

Phone videos are big: one minute of 4K can top 300 MB. To share a clip with a dubbing team, import it into another tool or simply send it in a message, you often need to make it lighter first.

This tool will compress an MP4 or MOV video online by scaling it down to the resolution you choose (1080p, 720p or 480p) and a matching bitrate. The audio track is copied as it is, without any loss, which matters most for dubbing, whether for transcription or for matching voices. The result is a standard MP4 that plays everywhere.

Your video never leaves your device: it is processed right in your browser, with no upload and no sign-up. Compression uses your device's video hardware when it is available. Expect anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the length.

Your file never leaves your device: everything is processed in your browser.

Need a rythmo band?

BandeRythmo transcribes the dialogue and generates a rythmo band, a scrolling dubbing script synced to your video. The Studio is there if you then want to record your own voice, solo or with others.

Frequently asked questions

Does the audio quality drop?

No. The audio track is copied without being re-encoded. Only the picture is compressed.

Which formats are supported?

MP4 and MOV videos, which covers phones and most editing software. WebM, AVI and MKV files are not supported by this tool.

Why is it slow on my phone?

Everything runs on your device, with no server involved. A recent phone usually handles a minute of 720p in under a minute, while a long 4K video takes more time.

My browser says it is not supported. What now?

The tool needs a recent browser with video processing support: current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Update your browser or try another one.
